Moments

You were busy being great. Moments caught it.

While you stream, CroStream notices when the energy jumps: chat doubling, a raid landing, a big cheer. It marks that exact second on Twitch, so after the stream your best bits are already waiting in a list.

  • Watches chat and channel events while you stream
  • Marks each peak on Twitch, ready in your VOD
  • Markers are private; the rest stays on your PC

How it works

Four steps from busy chat to a saved highlight.

No video analysis and nothing for you to press. Moments works from what CroStream already hears: your chat and your channel events.

  1. It watches chat and your channel

In one-second slices it measures how fast chat is moving and how many different people are talking, the reactions (KEKW, LUL, W, Pog), emotes and people yelling in capitals. Raids, cheers, gifted subs, hype trains, big channel point redemptions and the end of a poll or prediction count too.

  2. It compares that with what is normal

A busy chat that stays busy is not a moment; chat suddenly doubling is. Everything is measured against this stream’s own normal, so it works the same for a chat of 8 and a chat of 800. When the score climbs past the line and peaks, that is a moment.

  3. It adds a marker on Twitch

At that second CroStream adds a Twitch stream marker, a bookmark in your broadcast, with the reason as its text. Markers are private: only you and your editors see them, never your viewers. After the stream they are your list of highlights.

  4. It keeps the good part

The good part is rarely the exact second chat reacts. So every moment gets a capture window: for a chat reaction, the stretch before the surge; for a raid, what comes after. Turn on clips and CroStream can make a Twitch clip, or save the full window from OBS.

After the stream

Your best bits, already in a list.

Open Moments and pick a stream. Each moment shows how far in it happened, how big it was and why it was caught, with a Twitch marker and, if you want them, clips.

You are in charge

Turn it up for a quiet chat, down for a busy one.

Sensitivity sets how big a reaction has to be. Try each level on a sample stream here, then on one of your own with Preview.

A drawing of a sample stream. In the app, Preview does this for real: it replays the detector over a stream you already did, so you can choose a level before you trust it live. Nothing is marked or saved.

  • Find moments On
Watch chat and channel events for highlights while you are live.
  • Add stream markers On
A private Twitch marker at each moment.
  • Create clips Off
Also make a Twitch clip for each moment. Clips are public, so try it on a quiet stream first.
  • Time between moments 90 s
A hype stretch becomes one moment, not twelve. Pick anything from 30 seconds to 30 minutes.
  • Moments per stream By level
Stops after 15 on Low, 30 on Medium, 60 on High. Moments you mark by hand do not count.
  • Reaction words KEKW, LUL, W, Pog…
The words and emoji that show your chat reacting. Change them to fit your community.
  • Save moments from OBS Off
Cut the whole window out of OBS’s replay buffer, in your recording quality.

What you need

Three things, and your data stays yours.

Moments is on by default. These are what it relies on.

  • Twitch connected

Log in to Twitch in CroStream. Moments needs the permission to add stream markers; if an older login lacks it, the app says so and one click on Log in again fixes it.

  • History turned on

It is on by default. Moments are saved in History, and the detector learns what is normal for your chat from it.

  • VODs enabled on Twitch

A marker is a bookmark in your VOD, so Twitch only allows one when it is saving your broadcasts. Turn on Store past broadcasts in your Twitch stream settings.

Optional

Full-quality clips from OBS

A Twitch clip is capped at 60 seconds and at Twitch’s quality. If you want the whole window at the quality you record in, CroStream can take it from OBS’s replay buffer instead, and put it in a Moments folder in your media library.

  • Any length, up to what your replay buffer holds
  • The video is copied, not re-encoded, so nothing gets worse
  • Needs OBS’s replay buffer on, and FFmpeg, a free video tool. On Windows and Linux, one button in CroStream gets it for you
  • Markers are private Only you and your editors see them in Twitch. Never your viewers.
  • It runs on your PC Detection works from the chat and events CroStream already receives. It needs no video, and no CroStream account.
  • Your files stay yours Moments live in History on your computer, and clips saved from OBS go into your media library.

Plans

Moments is part of Supporter.

CroStream is free to use. The Moments detector, along with VTube Studio, Discord, Steam and a few more, comes with a sub to Haliebug13.

FreeEverything else in CroStream
SupporterMoments, with VTube Studio, Discord, Steam and more
  • An active Twitch sub to Haliebug13 unlocks it.
  • A free Prime sub counts. We only want your Prime sub.
  • If a sub lapses, Moments keeps working for 7 days, so a late renewal never breaks a stream.
  • Nothing is deleted. Your saved moments stay put, read-only, until you are back.

No watermark or on-stream credit on either plan, ever.
